Methodology for GHG Mitigation in a Municipal Area.Nolasco & Assoc. Inc. developed a methodology to estimate GHG emissions from municipal solid waste and wastewater management practices in municipalities. An excel-based tool was developed to facilitate the application of this methodology. The purpose of the methodology is to calculate the potential GHG emission reduction that could be achieved by a given GHG reduction measure implemented on the waste sector. Its applicability includes either specific projects that involve changing a particular municipal solid waste or wastewater management system, or projects that consist on the implementation of a series of GHG reduction strategies on the whole municipal solid waste & wastewater management situation in a municipality.
